Welcome to the Energy Transition Project Hub

The global energy transition involves shifting away from fossil fuels towards a sustainable, renewable energy future, characterized by innovation and increased customer choice. In Ontario, this transition is already progressing, with the OEB playing a crucial role in ensuring it unfolds in a way that is efficient, cost-effective and provides as much value as possible to consumers. As the province’s energy regulator, the OEB is actively engaged in initiatives aimed at modernizing the grid to facilitate an orderly energy transition while balancing affordability, reliability, and service quality. This work advances Ontario's clean energy advantage and aligns with broader government priorities for economic development, housing, and electrification.

This project hub provides information on our ongoing work that responds to changing consumer needs and the transformation of Ontario’s energy sector, including through grid modernization.

The OEB’s priorities are aligned with the Four Ds of the energy transition: Decarbonization, Digitalization, Decentralization and Democratization
