OEB Releases a Notice of Final Amendments to the Transmission System Code to Enable the Connection of Energy Storage.

The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) is giving notice, under section 70.2 of the Ontario Energy Board Act, 1998 (Act), of final amendments to the Transmission System Code (TSC). These amendments, which come into force today, are intended to facilitate the connection of energy storage to a transmitter’s system and will improve the effectiveness of connection processes, procedures, and requirements by ensuring that the regulatory rules in the TSC recognize and enable energy storage facility connections.

The OEB received written comments from five stakeholders. Generally, all stakeholders supported the proposed amendments to the TSC, released on January 27, 2025.

The OEB has considered all comments, determined that no changes need to be made to the January Proposed Amendments, and is finalizing amendments to the TSC accordingly.
