Notice of proposed amendments to the Distribution System Code

The OEB issued a Notice of Proposal to amend the Distribution System Code (DSC) to establish requirements for distributors to share foundational static information regarding Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) with the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), upon request. This information would be used to inform activities related to the deployment of DERs and support the broader objective of optimizing DER integration across Ontario.

In addition, proposed updates to three connection agreement templates in Appendix E of the DSC are expected to improve customer awareness and ensure consistent disclosure of distributors' information sharing obligations.

These proposed amendments are in response to the Minister of Energy and Mines' June 2025 Integrated Energy Plan Directive to the OEB.

We invite stakeholders to provide feedback on the proposal by May 14, 2026.
