Launched in 2021, Policy Day is the OEB's annual opportunity to provide a progress report to the sector and for stakeholders to input into our forward work plan.

The summary of feedback we received at Policy Day 2024 is now available.
What We Heard: A Report Back on Stakeholder Input at Policy Day 2024 reflects the feedback of nearly 200 attendees at Policy Day, including representatives of distributors, transmitters, generators, technology innovators, industry associations, government, frequent intervenors, consumer groups and Indigenous communities, among others. Our discussions benefited tremendously from the broad range of perspectives in attendance, giving the OEB a fuller picture of the needs and priorities to consider in developing its business plan for 2025-2028.

Recording of Policy Day 2024 Now Available
Watch the plenary sessions from Policy Day 2024, held on October 16, 2024, including remarks and reflections from members of the OEB’s executive leadership (Chief Executive Officer Susanna Zagar, Chief Operating Officer Harneet Panesar, Chief Corporate Services Officer & General Counsel Carolyn Calwell) and a summary of stakeholder feedback on such topics as adjudicative policy, grid modernization and future utility models, our regulatory framework, and youth engagement in the energy transition, particularly as it relates to building the sector’s future workforce.

Now in its fourth year, Policy Day is an annual OEB stakeholder event and an invaluable forum for gaining input on current and emerging energy sector issues that help shape the OEB’s future work priorities. -

Registration for the fourth annual Policy Day is now live.
This year’s theme, Enabling Ontario’s Energy Advantage, reflects the OEB’s new strategic goal and the transformation we can achieve when working together for the good of our communities, the economy and the future.
As Ontario’s regulator, sector stakeholders look to the OEB to address barriers and provide clarity to successfully navigate the energy transition. We’re working closely with sector stakeholders – regulated entities, associations, government, intervenors, consumers and others – to do just that.

October 16, 2024 set for Policy Day 2024
On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 1:30 to 4 p.m. EST, the OEB will host Policy Day 2024. This virtual event is a collaborative exchange with stakeholders on a range of topics informing our strategic planning.
As part of the interactive forum that day, participants will hear of our progress to date in advancing the priorities of the current business cycle as well as learn about the OEB’s plans for the 2025-2028 period and provide valuable input.
Insights gained through stakeholder participation are integral to the OEB’s ability to execute its mandate, protect consumers, and deliver sound decisions that support the energy transition, innovation as well as Ontario’s economy.

What We Heard: A Report Back on Stakeholder Input reflects the feedback of the 150 representatives of distributors, transmitters, generators, technology innovators, academics, consumers and government in attendance. This input will play a critical role in helping the OEB stay focused on the right priorities as the energy sector undergoes unprecedented transformation.
Policy Day 2023 enabled a collaborative exchange of ideas on a range of topics, from electric vehicle charging accessibility to benefit-cost analysis for system planning to distribution system operator models. Policy Day 2023 Registration opens; theme & agenda announced
We all acknowledge the energy sector is undergoing massive change. The OEB and our stakeholders are at the epicenter of a transformational transition. The theme for this year’s Policy Day, “Regulatory Decision-Making: Delivering Today and Planning for Tomorrow,” recognizes the regulatory needs of the energy sector of today while envisioning a framework to enable the energy sector for the future. Save the Date! Policy Day 2023 announced for October 12, 2023
On Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 1 to 4 p.m. EST, the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) will host Policy Day 2023.
Policy Day 2023 is our third annual opportunity for stakeholders to hear early thinking about and provide input into the OEB's strategic priorities for the 2024 – 2027 period.
An interactive discussion on a range of topics, the event will take place virtually. Stakeholder's will input into and walk away with clarity around OEB’s targeted program outcomes and a clear rationale for the policy and process work needed to support a sustainable and efficient energy sector, for today and tomorrow.
